[-empyre-] Introducing Methodicist Manifesto



-empyre- is pleased to introduce our next guest for September's AlterForms
discussion.

Since 1997 fine artist Hideki Nakazawa from Tokyo has  been a calling
himself a method painter.  In 2000, together with a poet and a musician, he
published a manifesto "Method Painting, Method Poem, Method Music
(Methodicist Manifesto)" and continues to publish the regular email bulletin
"Method." The Methodicist Manifesto is logical or stoic approach to pure
Art, Poetry
and Sound composition.

Hideki previously worked  as a multimedia artist from  the early 1990's
producing works like the floppy magazine Japan Art Today, software like
Digital Nendo, and patents for his "Device for processing a 3-D image" and
"Solid Object Generation." After he turned a pure artist in 1997, he created
logical works in succession using letters or go-stones, showing  in solo and
group exhibitions internationally, and recently published "The Lives of
Western Painters", currently available in Japanese.
>From this November Hideki will be participating in the International Studio
& Curatorial Program, NYC for the next year.
